Lisa Wells
Project Manager and Marketing Implementation Specialist

I established my online business, Coast2Coast Business Support Solutions, after 15 years of working with people, helping them use computers to be more productive in their day-to-day work.

Most virtual businesses are born in the home office, out of a computer, knowledge of a particular market, and a burning desire to help that market while working from home. People are sometimes surprised to hear that I really enjoyed my career as an information technology specialist and my children were very happy going to their daycare center for stories, arts and crafts and playtime. I had no intention of leaving my job to work at home.

No, instead something happened that happens to most military families. In July 2005, we got orders to move. I was living in Orange County (Southern California), where I had lived my entire life, when my husband received orders to North Carolina. My search for a new job quickly revealed that even though I had 20 years of office experience, a degree in business management, and multiple Microsoft certifications, there simply were no well-suited jobs for me.

That summer, the movie "Robots" came out; a cute family movie about Rodney Copperbottom, an idealistic robot inventor. To foil the plans of an evil inventor, Rodney applies the philosophy of "find a need and fill a need," and succeeds in bringing his robot friends together to save Robot City.

More than being one of the basic principles of business, this phrase goes right to the heart of what a virtual professional does and how I came to be one. Before my career as an information technology specialist, I was a secretary and a word processor. While most of my colleagues lived and breathed computers, I maintained a passion and expertise for paperwork, data entry, and report formatting. Using this skillset, I carved out a specialty for internet marketing and filled a huge need that online entrepreneurs crave. I was a very sought-after technical/marketing virtual assistant for almost five years before transitioning to a certified online business manager (OBM) in the spring of 2010.

Now, in my current role as a marketing implementation specialist, I partner with entrepreneurs to manage and build their online businesses. My role in your company boils down to one simple thing: To free up the business owner so that they can focus their time and energy on the things that only THEY can do in their business.

I have a bachelor of science degree in business management, hold designations as an Certified Online Business Manager, Certified eMarketing Associate, and Certified Virtual Assistant as a member of the International Virtual Assistants Association. I love to write and have been featured in Association of Work at Home Women's "Making it Work At Home" magazine and Military Spouse.

When you can drag me away from my computer, you can find me at home in the Sandhills of North Carolina with my three boys and my three dogs, ET, Lucy, and Soochow.

Outside of building and developing Coast2Coast, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading Stephen King novels, and am always up for trying something new (I learned how to snowboard when I was 38 and did my first live ghost hunt when I was 42!).
